Step by Step Guide To Check NEET Results 2020

The NEET examinations by the NTA (National Testing Agency) was successfully completed on the 13th of September 2020. The tentative date for the NEET Results 2020 to be declared is, on the 12th of October 2020. Students from all over the country appeared in the examination even after facing lots of hardships during a pandemic, but hard work pays back. Students can check their results on the official site of 

National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official answer key of NEET 2020 on September 26 in online mode. Candidates can use the official NEET answer key download link from below. The facility to challenge NEET 2020 answer keys by NTA has been made available on the website – till September 29. The notice and direct link to challenge NEET-UG 2020 answer key has been provided below. NEET 2020 official answer key has been released for code E1 to E6, F1 to F6, G1 to G6, and H1 to H6. The official NEET answer key 2020 can be used to calculate the approximate scores to be obtained in the NEET exam 2020. The final NTA answer key 2020 for NEET will be released after the re-evaluation of challenged answers.

Steps to check the result: 

Step 1: Log on to the NTA NEET result official website

Step 2: Click on the “View NEET UG 2020 -Result” tab given on the screen.

Step 3: On the NEET candidate login page, enter the roll number, Date of Birth, and the security pin provided on the page..

Step 4: NEET rank card 2020 will be displayed on the screen.

Step 5: Download the result of NEET 2020 by clicking on the ‘Print’ tab and then save it.

Step 6: Candidates are advised to save a copy of their NEET result and keep retain until the admission process concludes.


Marking Pattern and NEET Score :

  • For every correct answer, 4 marks are rewarded.
  • For marking the wrong option, -1 is deducted as penalty.
  • No mark is deducted for unattempted questions and marking more than 1 option.
  • Total Marks = 180 MCQs X 4 = 720 Marks
  • NEET Scores can be calculated by following the given formula – 

NEET Score=(Total number of correct answers x 4) – (Total number of incorrect answers x 1)

How to calculate Percentile: 

Once candidates have calculated their NEET score, with the help of it, the NEET percentile can easily be calculated. To calculate NEET percentile, two parameters are required:

  • Your NEET Score
  • NEET score of the topper that particular year

NEET Percentile = Your NEET score * 100 / NEET score of the topper

NEET 2020 Merit List

NTA will prepare a Merit List on the basis of directives of the Supreme Court of India, DGHS, MCI and DCI soon after the announcement of NEET Results 2020.

  • No category wise merit list will be declared; there will be only a centralized merit list for all the NEET 2020 qualified candidates.
  • The Merit list is prepared for seats under 15% All India Quota.
  • The number of candidates in the merit list would be equal to the number of seats available for allotment in MBBS/BDS courses under 15% All India Quota.
  • States will prepare their own merit list based on the AIR and category of the candidate.
  • Merit list for All India Quota is prepared on the basis of AIR and NEET Reservation Policy.
  • There will be a waiting list equal to 4 times the number of seats available for 15% All India Quota.
  • The merit list for NEET will be announced on its official website. Candidates are advised to check the official website as well as the websites for all NEET Participating Institutes regularly.
